In 1940, when Tucson's population was fewer than 60,000, the Tucson Citizen and The Arizona Daily Star entered into a joint operating agreement
that combined the business operations of both newspapers. The agency formed was Tucson Newspapers Inc., now officially called TNI
Partners doing business as Tucson's Newspapers.
The Arizona Daily Star and the Tucson Citizen maintain their editorial independence and compete vigorously for the news, at the same time sharing
all production facilities and the advertising, marketing, circulation, finance, IT and human resources departments. |
